How I Became Aware of Sharon: My father showed me The Fearless Vampire Killers when I was little. That movie was a pretty big deal in the household because it was the late-'90s and a rare title to find. We had to rent it from a specialty video store. I instantly thought that she was fantastic, but didn't think about her a whole lot for the next 8-9 years or so. Once I became very invested, personally and academically, in 1960's culture--I came back to her and really decided to research who she was as a person. That led to my Sharon-dedicated Tumblr, and now this forum.
Why I Joined: Technically, I started the forum, so I had to join. Bad/unfunny joke, I know. I created the forum to be an all-inclusive and safe environment for her fans to join because another place like that doesn't exist. It's high time that there is a welcoming place for all of her fans to meet and discuss/admire her life.

Name: Amy (although sometimes people call me Audrey - because of my username) Location: Ontario, Canada Age: 25 How I Became Aware of Sharon: I'm a HUGE Judy Garland fan and I bought Valley of the Dolls on DVD for the bonus feature footage of Judy's wardrobe tests (yes, that's the only reason I bought it lol). But then I watched the movie, thought it was a terrible movie LOL but was really impressed with "that blonde girl". So, I looked up Sharon Tate, found out who she was...and then I kind of forgot about Sharon until I met someone online (I don't remember her name), who just ranted and raved about how great Sharon is and it rekindled my interest in Sharon's work. I watched Eye of the Devil and The Wrecking Crew and BOOM! I became a HUGE Sharon fan! Why I Joined: Well, every time a Sharon forum has come out, I've joined. But sadly, Sharon forums don't seem to last very long. There was an Italian forum a few years ago that I loved, but after about two years, it became abandoned by staff and members. Here's hoping this one lasts a loooong time! And any other Sharon forum I've found tends to be more a Manson forum...not for me. Glad to see a forum dedicated strictly to Sharon's life and work. How I Became Aware of Sharon: I was watching TCM when I was home sick from school one day during my freshman year of high school, and that evening 'Valley of the Dolls' came on. The moment I saw Sharon, I was hooked! I started to research more about her, and watch videos dedicated to her (or interviews of her, ones that I could find), and became a huge fan just like that. Why I Joined: I've always wanted to join a forum for Sharon, but they either don't accept new members, or are shut down. So I'm very excited that there is a forum now, and I hope it lasts a long time!  |

How I Became Aware of Sharon: First found out about her when I got interested in the work of Polanski after I had watched Rosemary's Baby for the first time. I then got into sixties/seventies culture and of course found out more about her life, etc. and really admired her style.
Why I Joined: There aren't active forums for Sharon and I love discovering new information about her as well as seeing photos that I can't find just anywhere.

How I Became Aware of Sharon: While I was living in Los Angeles last year, I watched a documentary on Netflix about Roman Polanski. Of course, they spoke about Sharon and I grew to adore her. She not only was beautiful but she seemed like the sweetest soul (based on people's descriptions). Coincidentally, I happened to work in Culver City which is where her grave is and the old MGM studio (now Sony). I had the pleasure a few times of going to her grave and each time was a very special moment. I've now watched all of her movies and am basically obsessed!
Why I Joined: I am always looking ST up on the internet to discover new pictures, videos, info. So, I thought this would be a good source and I've been enjoying Kristen's tumblr so much. This will be a great place to see what other ST fans have to share! I also joined this forum because I want to focus on Sharon's life, not death. Other forums, etc. on the internet are pretty negative.

How I Became Aware of Sharon: I'm fairly certain it was around the early-to-mid 90s when I saw something on TV about the Manson murders. The whole crime was so tragic and so bizarre that I asked my mom some follow-up questions about it. She told me that Sharon was really beautiful and apparently a really kind person. She also told me about Sharon's mother, Doris, and how she went to all of the parole hearings and the work she did on behalf of victims' families. Sharon's life, family, and story intrigued me, and the older I get, the more interesting she becomes to me.
Why I Joined: I really enjoy Kristen's tumblr account - she has a lot of rare photos, and news clippings that I have not seen elsewhere. I've visited a few other forums, but they are primarily focused on the Manson murders - when I'm more interested in Sharon and her family. I'm looking forward to discussing Sharon's life with other like-minded fans!

I'm Andrea.....44 yrs old and I live in Florida , USA
Lets see, I first came to know Sharon when I was given a bunch of vintage magazines from a family member he collected on her.....Also seeing Valley of the Dolls....
I got out of collecting for awhile when my wild side hit.....
When I became pregnant w/ my son Donovan ....having a baby growing in my belly immediately made me think of her.......I was hooked once again....and still am ....
She was a truly beautiful human inside and out...I wish I could have known her...

Hi All, I'm vetmom, yes I'm a vet. Married with children (4), ranging from 18 to 5 yrs. First was aware of Sharon when I was 10, found my mothers HS book and saw bits and pieces on TV. Then I saw the Wrecking Crew and that was it...loved her ever since. From Ontario, Canada. Happy Thansgiving.

How i fell in love with Sharon: I was slepless one night when i was like 11 and scrolled on the tv when i got to tcm and they showed the fearless vampire killers. I fell in love with the redhead and started searching who Sharon was and became more and more obsessed.

Name: Uta (That's a German female name, I think it's not common in the USA or elsewhere  ) Location: Germany Age: 23 How I Became Aware of Sharon: Well 'The Fearless Vampire Killers' is a huge musical here in Germany, where my favorite musical actor played the lead, so I got into that, and then I found out it's based on a film, so one day it was on TV and I just started watching it and thought it was funny and then there suddenly was this super perfect gorgeous woman and I started to like google everything about her and since then she is my girl-crush, kind of. Why I joined: I found this forum on tumblr, I already follow a lot of Sharon blogs there and so I thought it would be a good idea to join to meet other people who love Sharon |

I had seen a few of Roman Polanski's films (Rosemary's Baby,Repulsion,and my favorite Chinatown) when a friend recommend I watched "The Fearless Vampire Killers". I absolutely loved the movie and thought Sharon was fantastic, her beauty was mesmerizing. After that I watched "Valley of the Dolls" and have been a fan ever since.
Why You Joined: I joined because I want to connect with other Sharon fans to celebrate her life and because I really enjoy the the Sharon tumblr as well!
